U.S. Virgin Islands State Plan for Occupational Safety and Health

AGENCY: Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Department of Labor.

ACTION: U.S. Virgin Islands state plan: Notice of reconsideration of 18(e) determination; proposed reassumption of concurrent Federal enforcement authority; request for written comments; notice of opportunity to request informal public hearing.

Abstract:
Approval of the supplement revising the Puerto Rico (PR), State
plan, Region II, development schedule in 1952.383 which revises the
dates in the developmental schedule for steps (a)-(m) and adds
scheduling for on-site consultation regulations, the laboratory,
poster, the boiler and elevator program, and staffing for
consultation, laboratory, boilers, and elevators. The effective date
is August 12, 1980.

Abstract:
Approval of revised compliance staffing benchmarks and final State
plan approval. Federal OSHA standards and enforcement authority no
longer apply to occupational safety and health issues covered by the
Arizona (AZ), Region IX, State plan. Federal jurisdiction remains in
effect with respect to Federal government employers and employees.
Section 1952.355 is removed and Section 1952.353 is redesignated as
1952.351. A new 1952.353 is added.

Abstract:
Approval of Maryland (MD) State plan, Region III, which has been
revised. Federal OSHA standards and enforcement authority no longer
apply to occupational safety and health issues covered by the
Maryland plan. Federal enforcement jurisdiction is retained over
maritime employment in the private sector and employment on military
bases. Federal jurisdiction remains in effect with respect to
Federal employers and employees. Effective date: July 18, 1985.

Abstract:
Approval of Utah (UT) State Plan, Region VIII, to amend Subpart E of
Part 1952 to approve revised compliance staffing benchmarks. Federal
OSHA standards and enforcement authority no longer apply to
occupational safety and health issues covered by the Utah plan and
authority for Federal concurrent jurisdiction is relinquished.
Federal enforcement jurisdiction is retained over maritime
employment in the private sector and on the Hill Air Force Base.
Federal jurisdiction remains in effect with respect to Federal
government employers and employees.

Abstract:
Correction to 49 FR 38252 published September 18, 1984 which omitted
to delete 1952.245 which pertained to approval of miscellaneous plan
changes.

Abstract:
Eligibility of the Iowa (IA) State plan, Region VII, for final
approval determination. Proposes to revise State staffing
benchmarks. Comments are requested by February 20, 1985.

Abstract:
Approval of supplements to the Alaska (AK) State Plan, Region X,
including a revised Alaska field compliance manual, an inspection
scheduling system, an amendment to the Alaska occupational safety
and health legislation, Amendments to administrative regulations.
Effective date: October 24, 1985.

hearing, where applicable, must be received by February 20, 1985.
