Investigation Summary
A four-person power line crew was replacing the top arm on a utility pole, changing it to a dead-end double arm feeding an underground line. The employees set an auxiliary arm in place under the existing arm and began transferring the 14.4-kilovolt line conductors to the auxiliary arm. During this operation, one of the power line workers contacted an energized section of the auxiliary arm and received an electric shock. He was hospitalized for his injuries.
