Investigation Summary
At 7:50 a.m. on December 28, 2020, an employee was performing routine work duties with a bagging machine, which operates mostly through automation. A bag became caught in the machine, and instead of powering it down, the employee attempted to free the bag manually. While reaching under the machine, where the blade is housed, the employee's left index finger was amputated. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.
