Investigation Summary

At 9:00 a.m. on July 30, 2019, an employee was working as a painter for a painting and wall covering contractor. The employee was on the top or roof of a water tower. He was working approximately 50 feet (15.2 meters) above ground level. He was operating a robot painter. The robot painter slid off the roof of the water tower. Apparently, the employee was tethered to the robot or in its path, because the worker fell off the roof too. The employe landed in a tree, approximately 4 feet (1.2 meters) from the ground. He suffered multiple fractures. He was hospitalized for more than two days.
