Employee fractures thumb while emptying garbage bin

At 1:00 p.m. on February 4, 2019, Employee # 1 was emptying a three yard garbage bin into a rear loader garbage truck. As he was releasing the latch from the truck to the bin, the latch came down and struck his thumb. He sustained a fracture to the thumb, and he was not hospitalized.
