Investigation Summary
At 2:30 p.m. on May 21, 2018, an employee was at home and felt ill for two days after previously working part time making leather masks and costumes. The employee went to the hospital and was diagnosed with multi-lobe pneumonia with pleural effusions and was treated with a course of antibiotics. There was no evidence that his illness was occupationally related. However, the member had been exposed to styrene from past employment activities. The employee was hospitalized.
