Investigation Summary
On January 10, 2014, Employee #1, a choker setter, was working at a yarder logging site when he was struck by a tree which was pulled over after becoming entangled with a choker line. The choker was dangling from the yarder's carriage which was returning back downhill on the skyline after completing a turn. The choker pulled over a dead but standing tree which subsequently struck the employee. Emergency Medical Service was called, and was they transported the employee to an area hospital. Employee #1 died in route to the hospital.
