Employee amputates tip of index finger while deactivating ea

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on August 10, 2017, an employee was moving a final end pump with an earth magnet to a palletizer. The employee was deactivating the earth magnet improperly by pushing the safety pin with his finger instead of using his left hand to slide the safety pin latch back. He pushed the safety pin back and when the handle was released under spring action it nipped off his finger tip.
