Announces the signing of an 11/8/90 addendum to the 10/5/89 Operational Status Agreement between OSHA and the California Department of Industrial Relations (CAL/OSHA). On 9/21/90, CAL/OSHA began enforcing requirements identical to the Federal OSHA worker safety rules governing hazardous waste and emergency response operations pending action by the CAL/OSHA Standards Board to adopt a comparable standard.

On July 20, 1973, notice was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER (38 FR 19368) of the approval of the Iowa Plan and the adoption of subpart J of part 1952 containing the decision. Iowa was granted final approval under section 18(e) of the Act on July 2, 1985. They have incorporated as part of the Plan, the State submitted State standards comparable to Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens, Final Rule 29 CFR 1910. 1030, as published in the FEDERAL REGISTER (56 FR 64175, dated December 6, 1991).

Pursuant to paragraph 8 of the Operational Status Agreement, which was entered into under section 18 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (the Act) by the State of North Carolina and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 1975, OSHA hereby announces the termination, effective October 24, 1991, of that agreement and the reinstitution of limited concurrent Federal jurisdiction to the degree necessary to assure occupational safety and health protection to employees of the State of North Carolina.

Section 1952.210 of Subpart O sets forth the State''s schedule for the adoption of Federal standards. By letters dated May 26, June 29, and July 20, 1992, from Commissioner Henry Koellein, Jr., Maryland Division of Labor and Industry, to Linda R. Anku, R.A., and incorporated as part of the plan, the State submitted state standards identical to:(1) 29 CFR 1910.

On Jan. 10, 1973, notice was published in the Federal Register (38 FR 1178) of the approval of the Utah State Plan and the adoption of Subpart E to part 1952 containing the decision. Utah was granted final approval on section 18(e) of the Act on July 16, 1985. Utah now adopts Federal OSHA standards by reference using the OSHA numbering system.
