Abstract:
On December 31, 1987, OSHA published a final standard on grain
handling facilities (52:49592-631). This rule was transmitted to the
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance of
the information collection requirements contained therein, in
accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, 44 U.S.C. 3501
et seq. and 5 CFR Part 1320. The information requirements contained
in the final rule in paragraphs (d) and (i) of 1910.272 have
received OMB paperwork clearance, and have been assigned OMB Control
Number 1218-0144.

Abstract:
Minimal requirements for the control of fires, grain dust
explosions, and other safety hazards associated with grain handling
facilities. It applies in addition to all other relevant provisions
of Part 1910 [or Part 1917 at maritime terminals]. 1910.272(a)-(m)
apply to grain elevators, feed mills, flour mills, rice mills, dust
pelletizing plants, dry corn mills, soybean flaking operations, and
the dry grinding operations of soycake. 1910.272(n)-(p) apply only
to grain elevators.
