Abstract: Servicing of single piece and multi-piece rim wheels. Would revise 1910.177 title to read "Servicing multi-piece and single piece rim wheels;" and would revise paragraphs (a), (b), (c)(1), (c)(1)(i), (c)(1) (ii), (c)(2), (c)(2)(ii), (c)(2)(iii), (c)(2)(iv), (c)(2)(v), (c)(2) (vii), (c)(3), (d)(2), (d)(3), (d)(4), (d)(5), (3), introductory text of (f), (f)(2), (f)(3), and (f)(4), and by adding new paragraphs (c)(2) (iii), (d)(6), (f)(22) and (g). This standard will be effective March 5, 1984.
Abstract: Part 1910.177 would be applicable to marine terminals, and marine terminal employers would be required to comply with the provisions of that section pertaining to the servicing of single piece and multi- piece rim wheels at marine terminals. Amendment of paragraph (a)(2) of 1910.177 to reflect that marine terminals covered by Part 1917 would not be covered by 1910.177.
Abstract: OSHA has revised the charts which are referred to in the rim wheel servicing standard, 1910.177, and which provide information for employers and employees who service multi-piece or single piece rim wheels, and is amending the standard to indicate the availability of these revised charts. Effective date: September 8, 1988.
