This notice announces that the information collection requirements
in OSHA's final rule on Control of Hazardous Energy Sources, 29 CFR
1910.147, which was published on Sept. 1, 1989 (54 FR 36644), have
been approved by the Office of Management and Budget through Sept.
30, 1992, and have been assigned OMB Control Number 1218-0150. These
requirements become effective Oct. 31, 1989.

the lockout/tagout practices and procedures that are commonly used
to disable equipment and to control the release of potentially
hazardous energy while maintenance activities are being performed.
The standard would supplement and support the existing
lockout/tagout provisions by providing comprehensive and uniform
procedures for use where no other standard specifies the use of a
lockout/tagout procedure.
