Special Government Employee Program
OSHA's Special Government Employee (SGE) Program allows individuals with safety and health experience to work alongside OSHA in the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and the Safety Champions Program (SCP). SGEs collaborate with worksites across the country, offering their expertise and experience in safety and health to promote safer and healthier workplaces. There are two ways to participate as an SGE: VPP SGE and SCP SGE. Learn more under the Program Information section.

VPP SGE Qualifications
- U.S. citizen
- Employed by VPP site
- At least 2 years VPP experience
SCP SGE Qualifications
- U.S. citizen
- At least 2 years of safety and health experience
