29 CFR 1910.95(i)(3): Employees were not given the opportunity to select their hearing protectors from a variety of suitable hearing protectors provided by the employer: a) Production area: An employee operating the welding machine was exposed to 68.72% of the permissible daily exposure of 85 dBA (8-hour time weighted average) or an equivalent sound level of 87.3 dBA during the 441 minute sampling period on November 30, 2021. The exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 39 minutes not sampled. The employer has not provided the employee with a variety of hearing protection. b) Production area: An employee operating the welding machine was exposed to 79.71% of the permissible daily exposure of 85 dBA (8-hour time weighted average) or an equivalent sound level of 88.3 dBA during the 433 minute sampling period on November 30, 2021. The exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 47 minutes not sampled. The employer has not provided the employee with a variety of hearing protection.
