29 CFR 1910.242(a): The employer shall be responsible for the safe condition of tools and equipment used by employees, including tools and equipment which may be furnished by employees. Establishment: An employee was exposed to rotating parts that caused an amputation of 2/3 of the right index finger and the right middle finger by the employer intentionally disengaging the seat pressure safety device on the John Deere Tractor Model 1445 and preventing the automatic shut down of equipment when operators leave the seat.
