Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a recognized hazard of electrical shock and burns: (a) P/B Northern Alaskan: Employees working or walking on the forward starboard corner of the observation deck had occasion to be exposed to a flexible electrical cord that was pulled out of the plug-in connection strain relief. This condition exposed employees to contact with live conductors. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to install a new plug-in or repair the existing plug-in. All Alaskan Seafoods, Inc. was previously cited for a viola- tion of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 107107997, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1, issued on 01/23/91.
