29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv): Flexible cords and/ or cables were used for purposes prohibited by paragraphs (A) through (F) of 29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv): A.) Microtech Knives, Inc., 300 Chestnut Street Ext., Bradford, PA 16701, tumbling area, on or about December 12, 2019 and times prior thereto: A flexible cord was running to a three-way relocatable power tap to power equipment including, but not limited to, a lighting fixture and a DeWalt 11-990 drill press. The use of the flexible cord was prohibited in that the flexible cord was being used in lieu of permanent wiring of the structure. B.) Microtech Knives, Inc., 300 Chestnut Street Ext., Bradford, PA 16701, tumbling area, on or about December 12, 2019 and times prior thereto: A flexible cord was running to a three-way relocatable power tap to power equipment including, but not limited to, a lighting fixture and a DeWalt 11-990 drill press. The use of the flexible cord was prohibited in that the flexible cord was attached to wall surfaces. C.) Microtech Knives, Inc., 300 Chestnut Street Ext., Bradford, PA 16701, tumbling area, on or about December 12, 2019 and times prior thereto: A flexible cord was running to a three-way relocatable power tap to power equipment including, but not limited to, a lighting fixture and a DeWalt 11-990 drill press. The use of the flexible cord was prohibited in that the flexible cord was running through a hole in the wall. D.) Microtech Knives, Inc., 300 Chestnut Street Ext., Bradford, PA 16701, work bench outside of the sandblasting/paint rooms, on or about December 12, 2019 and times prior thereto: A flexible cord was running from a wall receptacle and was spiced into a snap switch box to power a lighting fixture over the workbench. The use of the flexible cord was prohibited in that the flexible cord was being used in lieu of permanent wiring of the structure. E.) Microtech Knives, Inc., 300 Chestnut Street Ext., Bradford, PA 16701, work bench outside of the sandblasting/paint rooms, on or about December 12, 2019 and times prior thereto: A flexible cord was running from a wall receptacle and was spiced into a snap switch box to power a lighting fixture over the workbench. The use of the flexible cord was prohibited in that the flexible cord was running through a hole in a wooden board that was holding up/supporting the lighting fixture over the workbench. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
