29 CFR 1926.859(g): During demolition, continuing inspections by a competent person were not made as the work progresses to detect hazards resulting from weakened or deteriorated floors, or walls, or loosened material. Employee shall not be permitted to work where such hazards exist until they are corrected by shoring, bracing, or other effective means. a) Worksite: 56 Kirkwood Road, Port Washington, NY - Continuing inspections were not made by a competent person as the work progressed to detect potential hazards resulting from deteriorating floors, walls, or loosened materials as the structure was demolished; on or about July 1, 2024 Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
