29 CFR 1910.217(c)(5)(i): Mechanical power press(es) where the operator feeds or removes parts by placing one or both hands in the point of operation, and a two hand control, presence sensing device, or type B gate or movable barrier guard is used, were not provided with a control system and brake monitor that complied with paragraphs (b) (13) and (14) of this section: A. Press Room: On, or about, June 17, 2019, Press 402, a Federal partial revolution mechanical power press, was provided with two hand controls for safeguarding. The press did not appear to have a brake monitor and other features to ensure control reliability such as, but not limited to, a self-checking dual air solenoid valve. C. Press Room: On, or about, June 17, 2019, Press 781, a South Bend partial revolution mechanical power press, was provided with two hand controls and light curtain for safeguarding. The press did not appear to have a brake monitor.
