29 CFR 1915.152(b):Hazard assessment and equipment. The employer shall assess its work activity to determine whether there are hazards present, or likely to be present, which necessitate the employee's use of PPE. On or about February 10, 2024, the employer did not perform a PPE hazard assessment before allowing employees to conduct repair work on a barge.
