29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment: a. Fabritech Solutions, LLC - Oberlin, Ohio: On or about June 27, 2023, the working space and access to the 480-volt electrical equipment located on the back side of the Roll-In Saw (model DT1340; s/n 08004DT) bandsaw was not maintained. The east wall and tools, such as a ladder and grinder, stored within the space hindered an employee's ability to access or perform work on the machine's electrical equipment. b. Fabritech Solutions, LLC - Oberlin, Ohio: On or about June 27, 2023, the employer did not ensure that access to the main electrical panelboard, located on the east wall, and controls power sources in the welding/fabrication area, was maintained. Access to the electrical panelboard was obstructed by welding equipment, hindering an employee's ability to access the equipment in the event of an emergency or perform work on the panels as needed. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
