Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002C Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1430(c)(1): The employer had not provided training to the operator in accordance with � 1926.1427(a) and (b) on the safe operation of the equipment the operator would be using: a) On or about January 12, 2024, at a worksite located at 6121 Pennington Avenue, Baltimore, MD, the employer did not ensure that employees operating an 895 Liebherr Crane, were trained on all operations of the crane including unspooling the stabilization winch which exposed employees to being caught by and/or struck by the moving wire rope while the diesel engine was still on. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
