29 CFR 1910.243(c)(4): The top half of the wheel of portable grinding machine(s) was not enclosed: a. On or about July 7, 2021, in the shop, the employer failed to ensure effective guarding on the Central Pneumatic, Model 68831, portable hand pneumatic abrasive wheel grinder. A guard was not installed on the grinding wheel. An employee was, thereby, exposed to struck by hazards. b. On or about July 16, 2021, in the shop, the employer failed to ensure effective guarding on the Astro Pneumatic Tool Company, Model No. 533ET, portable hand pneumatic abrasive wheel grinder used by an employee. A guard was not installed on the grinding wheel. An employee was, thereby exposed to struck by hazards.
