29 CFR 1926.307(e)(1)(i): Horizontal belts where both runs were 7 feet (2.128 m) or less from the floor level and were 42 inches (106.68 cm) or less from the floor were not fully enclosed. At the jobsite located at the bridge construction over the Arkansas River in Nickerson, KS, the crane motor located inside the crane cab had an unguarded belt, exposing employees to caught-in and amputation hazards. Employees engaged in crane activities as a part of their daily duties were exposed to caught-in and amputation hazards in that the employer did not provide a guard for the belt located inside the cab of the American Crane.
