29 CFR 1926.651(i)(1): Where the stability of adjoining buildings, walls, or other structures was endangered by excavation operations, support systems such as shoring, bracing or underpinning was not provided to ensure the stability of such structures for the protection of employees. a. On or about June 22, 2023, at the jobsite located at 6084 Alligator Lake Shore West, Saint Cloud, Florida, employees were exposed to a crush-by hazard while constructing a retention wall, in that, the employer failed to stabilize a concrete column when the soil and adjacent support system were removed during excavation operations.
