Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a) On or about July 8, 2020 and at times prior thereto, the employer had not assessed the hazards and PPE needed for workers in the yard. Workers were engaged in the receipt, delivery, handling and transfer of large format porcelain tiles weighing approximately 250 pounds each from a wooden storage A-frame to a metal display A-frame. Workers were exposed to crushing, pinned-by and struck-by hazards to the head, neck, torso, extremities and feet. Note* Abatement certification IS required for this item.
