Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.23(d)(2): The employer did not install fixed ladders with a minimum perpendicular distance of 7 inches (18 cm) from the centerline of the steps or rungs, or grab bars, or both, to the nearest permanent object in back of the ladder: (a) On or about March 9, 2020, and at times prior, employees were exposed to a fall hazard while accessing the second level storage area in the northeast corner of the shop by way of the fixed ladder which was mounted 2.5 inches from the wall preventing feet from safely bearing on the ladder rungs.
