Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(ii):The employer did not ensure that each operator had successfully completed the training required by paragraph (l), except as permitted by paragraph (l)(5), prior to permitting an employee to operate a powered industrial truck: (a) U-Haul of West Central Colorado dba U-Haul Moving & Storage of Highlands Ranch at 1750 E. County Line Rd. Highlands Ranch Colorado 80126: On or before 10/13/2020, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that employees were operating the Toyota forklift without completing their forklift training. Operators were not trained and certified in accordance with this standard. An employee sustained serious injuries due to the Toyota forklift tipping over. This condition exposed employees to crushing, caught-between, and struck-by hazards. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item.
