29 CFR 1910.266(d)(1)(v): The employer did not assure that each employee wore foot protection, such as heavy-duty logging boots, that were waterproof or water repellant, and/or that covered and provided support to the ankle, and protected the employee from penetration by chain saws: The employer is failing to protect employees from foot and ankle cuts and lacerations related to manually felling trees with a chain saw. Most recently, on or about 04/05/2016, at the end of County Road 4410 in Boss, MO 65440 (Logging Site), an employee who manually felled trees was equipped with rubber boots that were not sufficient to provide protection against penetration by a chain saw. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19
