Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A):Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. On or about May 6, 2024, at 1755 Hillard Rome Road, Hilliard, Ohio, 43026, the employer failed to provide adequate training on the control of hazardous energy for authorized employees performing tasks that include but are not limited to counterweight removal from a CAT 349F excavator. Authorized employees were not trained to recognize, control and isolate energy sources specific to earth moving equipment which exposed them to caught-in and struck-by hazards.
