Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets. On or about July 13, 2023, at the worksite located at 1300 Maria Drive, Stevens Point, Wisconsin; the employer failed to ensure workers exposed to carbon monoxide while working with or around a Husqvarna gas-powered concrete saw (Type FS400LV, Serial No. 20212201779) were provided with effective information and training prior to their exposure. NOTE: The requirements applicable to construction work under 29 CFR 1926.59 are identical to those set forth in 29CFR 1910.1200.
