29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment: Quality Control Laboratory Area: On or about May 26, 2020, and at times thereto, employees performing quality control testing and sampling operations were exposed to chemical hazards when handling products such as, but not limited to, sodium hydroxide 50% solution, without a determination made on the effectiveness of the safety glasses provided for wear. Quality Control Laboratory Area: On or about May 26, 2020, and at times thereto, employees exposed to chemicals hazards when performing quality control testing and sampling procedures, were not provided chemical goggles or face shields, while handling products such as, but not limited to, sodium hydroxide 50% solution.
