Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact. H.B. Fuller Company, Tucker GA - In the unloading area, employees were exposed to body splash injuries while performing duties unloading a hot wax truck without wearing protective heat resistant body wear. The employer did not evaluate body splash hazards, and/or did not ensure suitable thermal protection for the arms and/or extremities was provided or being used, on or about 10/22/19. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
