Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): The Employer did not provide effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area: (a) Building 82: On or about May 8, 2017, the Employer failed to provide effective information to all affected personal that work around cyanuric chloride regarding the company's HALS Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and associated training that provides to not apply water to spilled cyanuric chloride due to its hazardous reactivity with water. Employees were permitted to use water to clean up spilled cyanuric chloride after a reactor charging process instead of the request dry-type procedure pursuant to the SOP. The information provided to the affected employees was ineffective.
