29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) The employer does not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area. This violation occurred on or about June 1, 2012 and June 2, 2012, at tank 80-7 where employees were exposed to a fire and explosion hazard when working with a flammable crude oil. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are informed and trained on hazardous chemicals in their work area.
