Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)On the east edge of a lake behind a residence located at 5577 Lakeview Mews Drive in Boynton Beach, Florida: The employer permitted employees to operate riding lawn-mowers adjacent to a lake with a steep slope, as well as, while the mower Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) was removed exposing them to crushing hazards, on or about May 11, 2010. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazardous condition would be to instruct employees to use the equipment as specified in the operator's manual.r's
