Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to crushing hazards while operating a zero-turn lawn mower without the rollover protection in place. On or about August 8. 2024, an employee sustained fatal injuries after the lawn mower he was operating on an embankment of approximately 25 degrees flipped over. In accordance with the Owner's Manual the lawnmower is not to be operated on slopes greater than 15 degrees and the Rollover Protection System (roll bar) is to be fully raised.
