29 CFR 1910.333(a)(1):Live parts to which an employee would be exposed were not de-energized before the employee worked on or near them, unless the employer could demonstrate that de-energizing introduced additional or increased hazards or was infeasible due to equipment design or operational limitations: Job Site: 149 Devereux Drive, Latrobe, PA 15650, On or about May 29th the employer did not ensure that all live electrical parts on an AAON RN Series Commercial HVAC unit were de-energized before employees were to service the equipment inside of the HVAC unit. Employees were in the process of replacing a faulty compressor on the HVAC unit when one employee came in contact with live 480V wires from the Crank Case Heater. The employee suffered electrocution injuries as a result.
