29 CFR 1910.176(b): Storage of material created a hazard: A.) General Partitions Manufacturing Corp., 1702 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505 - storage methods used for fixed and mobile pilaster racking systems posed potential struck-by hazards to employees. Pilasters were stored in an upright/vertical position while employees accessed the areas to maneuver the pilaster. B.) General Partitions Manufacturing Corp., 1702 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505 - Wooden crates containing production materials were periodically tilted on their side to allow easier access to the lower internal portions of the crate during unloading. The crate was propped-up/supported by a 2'x4' piece of wood. The crates were not properly secured or racked to prevent them from falling and striking an employee. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
