1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: a. On or about July 11, 2023, employees were using a Komatsu FG25T-16 LPG-powered forklift to lift an approximately 1350 lb. data cabinet, known as a power data center (PDC), off a wood pallet. The employer did not ensure that the employees were properly trained in how to ensure that the load was balanced and stable on the forks as the load was raised. Thereby exposing employees standing on the sides of the cabinet to crushed-by hazards.
