29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe condition(s) and the regulation(s) applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazard(s) or other exposure to illness or injury: (a) On or before March 11, 2023, the employer did not provide training to employees regarding hazards associated with performing maintenance and other work on vehicles such as dump trucks and excavators that have hydraulically operated parts. Hydraulics are used to raise and lower equipment on dump trucks and excavators. Crushing hazards exist when employees work underneath raised equipment prior to ensuring such equipment is blocked or cribbed to prevent movement.
