Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i):Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: On or about November 30, 2020, at the Midwest Scrap Management yard located at 850 East 45th Street North Park City, Kansas, the employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by and crushing hazards. A machine operator employee performed servicing and maintenance including clearing material blockages and jams activities on the Harris HS 98115 auto shredder machine that included multiple energy sources, was exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards in that the specific machine procedures for a complete unjam task were not developed, documented and utilized. 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1) requires certification and documentation that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
