29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Precision Strip, Inc., worksite located at 86 S. Ohio Street, Minster, Ohio, 45865: On or about October 15, 2020, the employer did not ensure that a Cincinnati Knife OD Machine Arbor, was equipped with a guard around the rotating chuck. Employee operating at or near this condition were exposed to caught in and/or caught on hazard. (b) Precision Strip, Inc., worksite located at 86 S. Ohio Street, Minster, Ohio, 45865: On or about October 12, 2020, the employer did not ensure that the pinch point between the diamond truing device handle and the cooling nozzle on the Cincinnati OD Knife Machine was adequately guarded. Employees performing truing task on the grinding wheel in this condition were exposed to pinch point hazards.
