Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. a) On or about and at times prior to September 6, 2019, an employee working as a painter was exposed to the hazards of high ambient temperature, which produced an indoor Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGTi) of 88.8 degrees Fahrenheit (Heat Index of 125 degrees Fahrenheit), while working in a heated spray painting booth and paint mixing room. Such exposures may lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
