Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) On or about and at times prior to July 9, 2019, an employee working as a machine operator in a metal building without A/C was exposed to the hazard of high ambient temperature, which produced an outdoor Wet Bulb Globe Temperatures (WBGT) of 92.5 degrees Fahrenheit (Heat Index of 105.9 degrees Fahrenheit), while manufacturing water heater pans, duties including but not limited to operating a thermoform and a press machine. Such exposures may lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
