Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while using below-the-hook lifting devices that were not labeled appropriately: On or about June 10, 2019, an employee was exposed to an amputation hazard while using a close proximity lifting magnet attached below the hook of an overhead crane. The lifting magnet was not marked or tagged with a label referring the operator to the instruction manual for information relating to the decrease in capacity of the magnet.
