29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide adequate training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program was understood by employees: On or about November 26, 2018, employees were exposed to serious physical injuries during maintenance and servicing operations on barrel machines, and the employer did not provide safety training to ensure employees understood the purpose and function of the companys energy control program. This safety training would include the following: a. Authorized Employees - training in recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control; b. Affected Employees - training in purpose and use of the energy control procedures; and c. All Other Employees - instructed about the procedure and prohibition relating to attempts to restart or reenergize machine or equipment which are locked or tagged out.
