29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. On July 12, 2018 an employee was rigging trusses onto a National Series 900 telescopic crane to lift them onto a new residential structure and had not been trained on the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions such as electrical power line clearance, in that the rigger was electrocuted when the cranes load line (wire rope) made contact with a power line (7200 KV).
