Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.20(b)(4): The employer shall permit only those employees qualified by training or experience to operate equipment and machinery. On or about 01 May 2018, the employer failed to ensure that a new employee who was required to operate a HED Screed machine was sufficiently trained in the safe operation of that machine. The employee was exposed to in-running nip point hazards from the powered wire rope spool assembly. Abatement documentation is required in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
