Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.179(b)(8): Only designated personnel shall be permitted to operate a crane covered by this section: Northeast, saw department, single shipping and receiving dock, Demag 10 Ton serial no. 95433 overhead bridge crane: on or about June 21, 2017, the employer failed to designate employees who were adequately trained and capable of safely operating the crane for regular load handling tasks including unloading steel bundles. Employees were exposed to swinging load struck-by hazards likely to result in serious injury. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
